[livejournal.com profile] sockkpuppett was listing her favorite Angel moments the other day and I listed several favorite, mostly Wes, moments in comments:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/sockkpuppett/220854.html?thread=1599158#t1599158

She suggested I continue on with the Wes love and so I am! Please feel free to add your own Westacular memories.

All the times in Season 1 when Angel and Cordelia were making Wes feel welcome and needed, and like he truly belonged somewhere (Parting Gifts, Expecting, and She come immediately to mind). Hopeful, insecure Season 1 Wesley needs all the lovin' he can get!

Wesley slicing open his arm and feeding Angel in Deep Down--probably my all time favorite Wes/Angel moment.

Taking charge of the attack on the castle in Pylea and being every inch a champion and skilled commander.

Calling his father in Belonging to wish him a Happy Birthday and telling him about his promotion. What really gets me is when he says "I though you'd be...I thought you'd want to know." Poor Wes, he never does get his father's approval or earn his respect. *sniffle*

When Wesley goes all psycho-interrogator on the junkie girl in Release. The way he screams at Faith to shut up, the fierce questioning, and his comment "I avoided the main arteries, she'll live" which mirrors one of my other favorite Wes lines from Shells after he stabs Gunn "I avoided the major organs, he'll probably live." It's no secret that I am madly and rather frighteningly in love with Psycho!Wes. Guh.

Speaking of our scruffy psycho, I have to mention the sizzling Wes/Lilah interaction. In Ground State: "Shut up Lilah." "Make me" and you all know what happens next. Double Guh.

Asking Lilah to keep the glasses on when she's dressed up like Fred.

Phone sex!

"There's a signed dollar bill in your wallet I think proves different." Awwww. I loved his conversation with Figment!Lilah in Salvage.

Finding out that Fred and Gunn have split up and frankly telling Fred that he knows he's supposed to say he's sorry but that he really can't.

The entirety of Spin the Bottle. I'll pick one random favorite from that one: "Perhaps the whole point of this experiment is hair!"

Oh, another cool kick ass moment from Release: when Faith is working over the demon at the bar and another demon sneaks up behind and Wes cooly aims his gun and blows its face off. One of the hottest Wes+gun moments, and there are tons of those.

Crazy!Wes shuffling around in his office in Timebomb. Cree-py.

Wes shooting his father and his blank, disbelieving look afterward and the way he staggers off to be sick. Oh, my Wesley!

That Vision Thing--Wes: "I suppose it is one of the unwritten laws of being a dick." Gunn gives him a funny look. "Ah, a sleuth, a gumshoe, Sherlock." Gunn: "All I know is you use the word 'dick' again and we're gonna have a problem." Then a moment after Wes says the name of the next shop they're investigating, "Van Hoa Duong" and Gunn gives him another look. Hee!

Dad--"Seeing as you once nearly had sex on my desk I shouldn't be surprised that now there's a baby on it."

Waiting in the Wings--"Fred doesn't have six breasts! Right?" Wesley getting back into the fight even after his devastation at seeing Fred and Gunn kiss.

Loyalty--Wesley's face in the hallway after the explosion when he looks up at Angel and Connor and believes that the prophecy really is coming to pass.

I might amend this later. I have library things to do!

His 'James Bond' moment in Spin The Bottle; he tries out that wrist-thingy for the first time... *swoon*

His 'Head Boy' moment in Spin The Bottle: 'I know ka-ra-te!'

The first quote of the ship Wilah: 'I wasn't thinking about you when you were here.'

His entrance to the show: 'Hello, Angel.'

His words to Faith: 'You... are a piece of sh-'

*clasps hands to heart* Oh, there are so many wonderful moments :)

most recently, i was totally swooning over ultra-gritty, one-armed wes in "birthday" -- oh my!

I'd have to post the entire transcript of Spin the Bottle if I wanted to list all my favorites. I love all the appearances of his 007 gadgets: releasing the stake right in Gunn's face, the effect Fred has on its deployment later on, and best of all the part when pseudo teenaged Wes discovers its existence: "Nobody scream! Or touch my arms."

Ooh! That's a good one too. Seems like Wes hits rough times and toughens up no matter what universe he's in.

The Wes/Cordy kiss in Parting Gifts. He's shocked and then gets into it.

Chaining Angel to the bed. Twice.

Laughing at Angel when they are in Pylea. hee hee

I love the "burden of command" pose of Wes with the sword in the Pylea arc.

In Sacrifice, when the cricket-monster thing has gored Angel, and he attacks it. (true love!)

Players, is it? When Angel tells Wes that he cares about Lilah because Wes does. I love the way Wes looks at him.

Speaking of looks, Reign of Fire, when Wes catches the crossbow. And pulls the shotgun out of his ASS to fire at the Beast.

Opening the closet and finding Justine in there. On the boat: "I'll take away your bucket."

You mentioned feeding Angel, and I love that, but my favorite moment in all of Deep Down is the look between them when Wes puts Angel into the car. Volumes are spoken without saying a word.

Going down on Lilah.

Laughing at Lilah in Deep Down... Ooh ooh! "I wasn't thinking of you when you were here." How cold is that. Cold and hot at the same time.

In Home, trying to destroy Lilah's perpetuity contract. sniff

Telling Angel that hope is the most important thing--knowing that something's up but not what it is.

Throwing down the Orlon Box in Origin. Everything goes through his mind, he looks up and sees and understands Angel. Guh guh guh

Not Fade Away. **sob**

Angel and Wes. Wes and Angel. sigh.

Oh Wes steering the boat in Deep Down and Justine picking up the wrench and going to hit Wes and him saying without turning "I'll take away your bucket..."

Hmmm

I had to think really hard if I should reply to this, because I think I could write a friggin' book on most excellent Wes moments. Heh! I'll try my best to dwindle it down to a managable hundred or so (j/k!)

The "leather pants problem" in Parting Gifts. Oh, how I'd love to be those pants...

Wes-torture in Five By Five. Gah...

In Sanctuary, when Wes utters "Bitch" when referring to Faith. That was just...priceless on so many levels.

Guise will be Guise: "Dear God! That's...nummy". No other man could get away with saying "nummy" and still be a sex fiend. Heh...

The strip-tease dance on film in Blood Money! That is *the* most fecking hilarious thing I've ever seen...

The Gunn-Wes dynamic in The Thin Dead Line. Good ol' days...

Psycho!Wes in Billy almost made male chavanism hott. Oh, who am I kidding...it was downright sexy...

Not exactly a "moment", but the deleted scene from Waiting in the Wings...you know the one....*grins*...Schizo-gazelle-dancing at it's best...

Wes and the Hamburger. The Hamburger and Wes. Anyone else tried talking to one of those things to see what happens?...

"Life is funny"...and then all hell breaks lose. Wes's realization of the prophecy in the hallway...Alexis is the master of emotional facial expressions.

Wes's "karate"...*giggles*

Wes/Lilah. Just the whole relationship was a high point, for me. From the "I wasn't thinking of you.." line to the "It's never simple..." conversation to the "You, me, broken furniture" break-up. And the whole post-mortem Lilah conversation? Did anyone *not* shed a tear during that?! And trying to set fire to Lilah's contract...*sniff*...Gallant to the end...

Wes/Faith. I've always thought both of these characters had a lot in common, more than what was let on. I loved the whole bit in the bar, stabbing the junkie, screaming at Faith, pushing her just enough to the edge. Angry!Wes is the best...

Wes/Guns. Anytime Wes is toting firepower, it's pure sex on legs. Makes me want to go campaign for the NRA...

Wes/Alcohol. Angst-galore, and I love Wes all angsty...Makes you just want to sweep right in and save him...

Wes/Illyria. It was like great Shakespeare in the making.

The drunken Wes/Fred antics of Life of the Party...It was nice to see a happydrunk!Wes compared to his sullenly drunk self of the past.

The whole of Lineage. 'Specially the final scene, where he kills roboto!Roger. It was nice to see some kind of continuitiy with the whole childhood trauma angle.

The emotional drainage experienced by me thanks to our dear Wes in the eps following Fred's death. It wasn't so much that I grieved over the end of the Wes/Fred 'ship, just how much she meant to Wes and how he reacted.

And...finally...Not Fade Away. "There is no perfect day for me..." *wails* I won't deny that it was a good death, a clean end to the Wesley epic...but...goddamnit, why?! WHY?!...*slinks off back to denial land*

Gah...there's so damn many Wes moments...Hey, what would you guys think about me using your moments as kind of a memoir to Wesley on my site? If you have sites, I can link your entries back to them.

My site is at www.geocities.com/xanalyticalmindsx/index2.html

Lemme know, folks!! :P

I love the shot of Wes and the sword. It's my desktop wallpaper at home.

It's interesting to watch the Wes/Angel dynamic develop. At first Wes is so eager to please (like when he slips on the coffee beans Angel spilled "Please don't fire me!"), and then he's confident he has Angel's full support and respect (and love, of course) and he's willing to put his life and his happiness on the line to save him. Of course Wes always talks about Angel being "necessary" to the world, but Angel is also necessary to Wes!

I love the scene in the car in Deep Down too. I love all of Deep Down--that's one I watch frequently.

Oh, man. Wes and his guns in Reign of Fire. I always wondered where the hell that shotgun came from. My favorite is the slow-mo of him firing the two handguns before that. Guh.

I love all of Wes' scenes in Deep Down. His post-coital talk with Lilah, going to Justine in her closet, threatening to take away her bucket, bringing Angel up and feeding him, taking him back to Fred and Gunn and then sadly going on his way. *sniff*

I love all of these too. Yeah, we probably could fill a book with favorite moments! It's fine with me if you want to use mine on your site.

Wes in leather. Oh, yeah.

I too was turned on by Psycho!Wes in Billy, as disturbing as that is. And anytime Wes is toting or firing those guns--what is it with the violence=sexy when it comes to Wes? Somebody should do a psychology essay on that.

I miss my Wesleykins! *sob*

*sobs with you*

At least I'm not the only one who thought homicidal Wes was the epitomie of sex.

I tried to interest my Ethics teacher in having us do a paper on any character in literature or entertainment, and write about said character's philosophy. She seemed interested, but said that the class probably wouldn't appreciate another writing assignment. Pansies.

I've considered telling my therapist about how much I love the show and Wesley's story and why I think he's my favorite character. A good bit of my attraction isn't surprising given my past and my interests, like Wes' geeky past, his need for approval, his parental issues, his book smarts, his journey from bumbling doofus to confident, respected, competent leader despite his downfalls, not to mention the hottie factor, but I'm not sure how he'd react to my attraction to Psycho!Wes!

LOL! Wes was easy to identify with for me too (as was Willow and Xander, to varying degrees). He had issues, he dealt, he became a better man. He's a great example of overcoming obstacles in life. Wes as a role model - heh!

Pfft...what's wrong with a little Psycho!Wes luvin'??
