For those who haven't seen it, I've found DT's sex scene from "Love in the 21st Century" on YouTube. NSFW!! No nudity, but lots of rutting and grinding and grunty sex noises.
I know... after I saw this I wondered if the 'most embarrassing moment as an actor' anecdote he gave to Parkinson was referring to the beginning of Secret Smile or this. Hee!
Personally, I wouldn't think anything would faze him after Casanova, but maybe he was speaking purely of how embarrassed he was at the time it was filmed.
More embarrassing than appearing onstage with nothing but a Bobbie's hat, eh? ;P
*wants to go back and watch parki* alas, not on this computer. think he said it was an old film. that's why i connected it with LA Without a Map.

he certainly appears to be a good sport about it all.
and i dunno. i think that i might choose briefly appearing naked on stage over simulated sex on screen. where people can watch it. over and over. put it on youtube, splice it into prony vids, etc. then again, eh, maybe not.
Checking... he says "quite a long time ago now," so that would almost have to rule out Secret Smile, since that was only a couple of years ago.
And given he says film rather than television program, I'm gonna concur with your guess about him referring to LAMAP.
I swear, sometimes these interviewers/hosts put him into the most awkward situations and he just rolls with it (worst I've seen yet would actually be the Big Quiz of the Year 2005, not Graham Norton). Such a nice guy.
I'm guessing because the show aired before a certain hour. Having seen British TV in person somewhat recently (late 2001), I can verify that they have no problem with bare breasts later in the evening.
David's noises were lovely, but hers at the end sounded a little overdone--or maybe that's just me since I don't do that? Hee! Like the commenters mentioned above, David's sometimes been unsure when he does sex scenes because he's thinking, "Was that alright? That's what everyone else does in bed, isn't it?" :D
I just watched that film today and I agree the noises she made sounded a little overdone. David was hot as usual:D What did he do in LA without a map that would be embarrassing? I haven't seen the movie yet.
