my brother's cat does that to him as well. I saw this first thing in the morning (well, 10:00 am) and had to call him to let him know.

Of course Tilly likes to add claws in with the pats, along with sitting her 14 lbs. on my hair so I'm trapped. Alarm clock or kitty claw up a nostril? I know which one I'd choose.
