I've made icons of all the beachfront towns and cities on the Miss. Coast that have been devastated. It's my way of remembering the beauty of the area and the hope that its beauty will return someday. Just a little coping mechanism on my part, I'm not sure that anyone else will want them. All are shareable if anyone does.

I've never been any of these places, but I'll snag Pascagoula, Bay St. Louis and Waveland in honor of you and [livejournal.com profile] sockkpuppett, if that's ok.

We lived in Biloxi for a short while when I was a toddler--my dad was in the Air Force and was stationed there for some kind of training. So I have snagged the lovely lighthouse pic.

Will take Pascagoula, too, just because I like the name :)

Thank you! My dad worked at Keesler for almost his entire life. He was stationed there in the '50s, met my mom in Pascagoula, got married, and stayed on as a civilian. Pascagoula is the name of a long extinct Indian tribe. The name means "bread eaters".

Thank you for these. I'm wandering off with Pass Christain, properly credited when used. My godparents are from there, thought they're okay my godmother's uncle drowned and they lost six houses out to sea. Truly a devastating situation.

I'm glad your godparents are safe, but I'm so sorry for their losses. I don't think there's a single soul on the coast that hasn't suffered some loss from this storm, be it life or property.

I am taking the Biloxi, BSL, Waveland, PC, and Gulfport ones, but most especially, I'm taking Long Beach. I grew up in Long Beach, and although I don't live in Mississippi anymore, it breaks my heart that it's gone.

Thanks for makng these.

My sister has lived in Long Beach for many many years, and thankfully she and her house were spared because she lives north of the railroad tracks. I've lived in both Pascagoula and Bay St. Louis and I've got family all over the coast, mainly in Jackson County. Everyone is safe, but we've lost homes. It's still hard to comprehend that all the places I've been used to seeing all my life are gone.

::hugs::
